Manufacturers: Get your vehicles and equipment approved for WAZIP

For vehicles and equipment to qualify for WAZIP vouchers, manufacturers must submit their models for approval.

WAZIP eligibility requirements

1. Meet basic requirements

Models must be zero-emission, commercially available and intended for commercial, non-profit or public fleet use. Built-in telematics capability is mandatory for incentive program eligibility.

2. Provide warranty and service support

Approved models must include a minimum three-year or 50,000-mile warranty (whichever comes first) for on-road vehicles or a minimum three-year or 6,500-hour warranty for off-road equipment. Manufacturers must also have at least one Washington state-based service option for repairs and support.

3. Confirm eligibility

WAZIP covers new and used on-road vehicles (Classes 2b–8) and a variety of off-road equipment. To expedite the launch, WSDOT references the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP) and Clean Off-Road Equipment (CORE) voucher program eligibility processes as the baseline for WAZIP eligibility.

4. Submit an application

Contact  to start the process of applying to make your vehicle or equipment models eligible for WAZIP. This process includes signing the  document.

5. Maintain eligibility

Models must continue to meet WAZIP standards and submit required telematics data on a quarterly basis for three years. Models that no longer meet requirements may be removed from the catalog.

For complete vehicle submission details and eligibility requirements, see the .
