FRAUD ALERT: Beware of WAZIP application scams

There are fraudulent communications being shared with the public falsely claiming Washington Zero-Emission Incentive Program (WAZIP) applicants must submit by July 1, 2026, and pay a $5,000 fee to participate. These claims are false. WSDOT does not require applicants to pay any fee to participate in WAZIP and there is not a deadline for applications. Any email, text message, phone call, social media post, or website requesting payment in connection with WAZIP applications is a scam. Please notify info@wazip.org if you receive a fraudulent message. 

Bridging the cost gap between diesel
and zero-emission fleets

The Washington Zero-Emission Incentive Program (WAZIP) helps businesses and commercial fleets save money when they buy or lease cleaner vehicles and equipment. WAZIP is funded by Washington’s Climate Commitment Act (CCA) managed by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) and administered by CALSTART.

WAZIP offers point of sale vouchers that lower the upfront cost of eligible zero-emission on-road vehicles and off-road equipment. Purchasers can choose from a catalog of approved models and work directly with participating sellers to complete their purchase.

WAZIP offers:

  • Discounts at the time of purchase or lease (as long as available funding lasts)
  • Support finding a ZEV that fits your needs
  • Technical and infrastructure support to ensure fleet readiness
